Google Project 10 100 Submission

Project 10 100 Unveiled Google, always the innovator, has a new concept on the idea of giving back to the community.

Their Project 10 100 is designed to give you and everyone the opportunity to submit an idea that you think might benefit the world in some way. Now I know what you are thinking, and no you don't have to save the world. Think of something that you have always wanted to tell people about that might do some good, and submit it! Think about it. How many times are you given a platform from which to voice your opinion on what can be done about something, and all that it costs you is a little bit of time and a form submission. You may spend more time watching television or viewing videos on YouTube, than you would by taking a minute to think of, or remember, that last great idea you had about "saving the world."

I mean, I spend every day on my blog talking about bilingual internet marketing, but as soon as I saw Project 10 100, I immediately thought of something I have always wanted to tell people about but never could, because it would only be to a roomful of friends, etc. My submission talks about an idea I have on paying of the national debt. I wrote about it on my blog to get the word out about it, but I don't think I could get the word out about it at anywhere near the level that Project 10 100 could. So go ahead, submit an idea. They may just like it.

Also, there is no limit to the number of submissions that you can make. As long as you make the submission on something that deals with or causes any of the following:

Community:
How can we help connect people, build communities and protect unique cultures?
Opportunity: How can we help people better provide for themselves and their families?
Energy: How can we help move the world toward safe, clean, inexpensive energy?
Environment: How can we help promote a cleaner and more sustainable global ecosystem?
Health: How can we help individuals lead longer, healthier lives?
Education: How can we help more people get more access to better education?
Shelter: How can we help ensure that everyone has a safe place to live?
Everything else: Sometimes the best ideas don't fit into any category at all.
With Google's ability to distribute information instantaneously throughout the world, it's a good place to start a concept like Project 10 100.

So without further delay, here is an excerpt on the submission I made.

The Submission Idea: To establish a citizen fund to payoff the national debt.

The Problem: The national debt is an ongoing problem that government doesn't seem to get a handle on. A few years back, when they were just going to "balance the budget" (which meant that all they were doing was spending as much as they took in) they were making a BIG deal about it as if that was a solution. Any small chance at political gain is a sign of uproar from the politicians, but here, ten years later, its still not a dime lower and in fact its much higher.
The Solution: A citizen fund established at Google in Escrow to payoff the debt is something that can help this country regain a little bit of its sovereignty and economic strength. An eliminated national debt can cure a lot of the ills in the country, beginning with our social programs. If so much of our monies weren't used to pay down interest payments, some of those dollars could be invested on our infrastructure and education systems. It really is up to the citizens (the people) to wrestle with the problem and eliminate it. Government doesn't seem to have its nails in it right...

The Delivery: Because Google has the technological superiority in being able to deploy an electronic contribution system, it can also create a public service announcement that keeps people reminded of its existence. Presently, there is a little BOX on your federal tax returns that says, "send xdollars to paydown the debt." NO ONE reads that, and when they do, its once a year. If Barack was able to raise $5 here and $10 there and put together millions, this fund can do the same if not more...

The Results: Google could create a measure and progress tool that tells everyone how much has been raised and in what timeline it will be paid off...
The Involvement: Indicators and visual aids help people to see goals clearly... as they see there contributions increasing, they will see the timeline of the pay off decreasing...

Well, that is my two cents in the matter. Maybe someone can think of a better idea. I just hope someone doesn't send in a Project 1 request, where they say "forget everybody, just help me!"
